Melissa is an experienced psychologist of more than 15 years who adopts a warm, caring, and empathetic style of counselling. She is committed to treating each person as an individual, with respect and unconditional positivity, in a safe, non-judgemental space where people can be themselves as they voice their concerns. Her gentle approach allows individuals to feel accepted and nurtured. As a parent of three children, Melissa understands the demands of a working mother and the importance of maintaining a balanced and healthy quality of life. 

She is motivated to see people thrive, especially from a mental health perspective. She uses evidence-based therapies for best practice, namely Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), which focusses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. Melissa has worked across a range of settings, including hospitals, schools, university, private practice, and most recently Telehealth, where she has addressed the emotional, mental health and wellbeing needs of children, parents, youth and adults. 

She has encompassed a broad array of areas including depression, anxiety, phobia, sleep, stress, low self-esteem, grief and loss, adjustment, trauma anxiety, learning issues, school refusal, disabilities (including ASD), school and work transitions. In her current Telehealth role, Melissa sees adults for individual counselling and parenting related concerns.

Twinkle provides support to teachers, and families around understanding and supporting students’ emotional, social and learning needs and needs in relation to identified disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Dyslexia among other challenges in the classroom and at school more broadly.
